The 27th Agricultural Products Exhibition AG-Fair was held by the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock from 19.10.2022 to 22.10.2022 in Badam Bagh, Kabul. This exhibition is held twice in a year to encourage farmers and herders of the country to promote their products and create business-to-business (B2B) linkages. The ceremony was officially inaugurated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, with a group of high-level government authorities.
The purpose of this exhibition is to introduce new initiatives in the agriculture and livestock sector, conservation of the environment, and marketing of domestic agriculture and livestock products. In simple words, it introduces and promotes domestic livestock and other agricultural products.
A large number of representatives of government and non-governmental organizations, representatives of the private sector, national and international NGOs participated in this exhibition. Each of the participants were involved in the activities of agriculture, animal husbandry and animal products and displayed their products in more than 900 booths for thousands of visitors.
The DCA organisation is the most experienced service provider in the livestock, agriculture, environmental protection, food security, job creation, and rural economic empowerment sectors in Afghanistan. The organisation attracted thousands of visitors to its booths.
By reserving three booths at the exhibition site, DCA plays an active role in providing animal health services, processing dairy products, wool and cashmere for trade, poultry farming, pasture protection, maize and saffron cultivation thereby helping to reduce poppy cultivation. Food banks for animals, preservation of agricultural infrastructure and activities related to the mentioned sectors were explained to the visitors.
The DCA staff were able to attract the interest of farmers, herders, wool and cashmere merchants by explaining the goals and activities of the organisation. Large numbers of government authorities such as the Deputy Prime Minister, the acting Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, the Technical Deputy Minister, and a number of Directors enthusiastically visited the DCA booths. They were provided with all the necessary information about DCA. Everyone expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the services provided by DCA. For this reason the activities of DCA were widely covered by the local media. An exclusive report on the work of the organisation was also reported through popular and reputable media sources such as through Tolo News, and the National TV stations.
