This book describes how a small veterinary NGO with a limited budget can grow into a successful, widely respected organization with significant impact in 25 years. Its setting is Afghanistan, where the NGO is working on an effective veterinary system to improve the health and production of local livestock. The book covers the period from the organization's founding shortly after the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan in late 1979 to 2013, a year before the withdrawal of ISAF troops from the country.
